How to Upgrade phpMyAdmin Localhost

First you need to open phpMyAdmin page you can open page by typing localhost/phpMyAdmin or else you can open your Xampp and click on admin button of my sql and whether its asking for update or not it will show you the page of phpMyAdmin. If it’s showing, then follow these steps to upgrade your phpMyAdmin.

Once you open the phpMyAdmin panel check below the page is it asking you to upgrade your phpMyAdmin or not if its then follow the further steps. Click on that link it will redirect you to the phpMyAdmin official page.

After that you need to click on download button to download the latest file of phpmyadmin, it will download rar file.

Now open the folder where have you downloaded the latest file of phpMyAdmin. Right click on the rar file and click on “Extract Here” it will extract the files into one folder. Once you extract the files go to Xampp Location C:\xampp. Inside the Xampp folder you will see the folder name phpMyAdmin. Just rename it to “phpmyadmin_old” and press enter.

Now go to the download folder where have you downloaded the latest version of phpMyAdmin copy the folder which you have extracted and paste it inside the Xampp folder Xampp Location C:\xampp.

Once you paste the latest version of phpMyAdmin into Xampp folder. Open the older version of phpMyAdmin folder and inside the folder look for “Config.inc.php” file copy that file and paste it into the latest version of phpMyAdmin folder.

Now rename the latest version of phpMyAdmin folder name to (“phpMyAdmin”). And press enter to save it once you did it open the phpMyAdmin panel and refresh to check its still showing you to upgrade or not or else you can check the version detail on bottom right of phpMyAdmin panel. After the upgradation you can delete the older folder of phpMyAdmin from Xampp folder. You have to repeat the same process every time when you to upgrade your phpMyAdmin.
